As you know the workout of the day is very hard and several days in a row can take its toll on an athlete. Many of you try to go 5 days in a row and take the weekend off. If by Thursday and Friday you feel like you feel like you legs are made of lead and your arms hurt so bad you cant brush your hair, you might want to consider a day off. Listen to what your body is telling you, I know it is hard sometimes but sometimes taking a day off can have huge benefit. If you are hell bent on coming in 5 days in a row maybe consider hitting the WOD hard 2 or 3 days in a row and then dedicating a day to a certain skill you want to work on like those muscle ups, snatches, or double unders.

If you feel like you have reached a plateau or you are taking forever to recover from a workout consider a change in diet. To maximize the results of you workouts you have to not only put in the work in the gym but also in the kitchen. We are only with you for about 1 hour a day, the other 23 hours of the day it is up to you to control what you are putting in your mouth. If you feel like something isn’t right the first place to look is the fridge, the cupboard, the pantry, the shopping cart……
