He has worked extensively with many types of injuries from spinal fusion to plantar fasciitis, focusing on improving movement to remove the causative stresses.

I’m Coach Ty, and I’m proud to be part of the CrossFit San Ramon coaching staff and management team. I began my CrossFit journey in 2020 and found a deep passion for the sport and its community. After earning my CF-L1 in 2021, I joined the CrossFit San Ramon coaching staff and began helping others improve their health and fitness. By 2022, I transitioned to coaching full-time, and in March 2024, I achieved my CF-L2 certification.

CrossFit is not just about physical strength—it’s about building resilience, confidence, and mental fortitude. Coaching gives me the chance to share this gift with others, guiding them toward their goals in and out of the gym.

My favorite workout is Holleyman and My favorite movement is Power Clean!

I started coaching in 2020 to give back to the CrossFit community that has given me so much. Helping other athletes on their journey to improving their fitness is a privilege. To all future CrossFit athletes please know that “50% of all workouts is just showing up.”.

As a Navy veteran, long deployment was very exhausting and monotonous. I found that fitness was key to physical and mental health. I tried all forms of fitness throughout the years from Globo Gyms to BootCamps to fads like P90X or Tae Bo with little results, lots of injuries and little motivation. After getting married and having 3 wonderful kids I finally gave CrossFit a try in 2015. I found it community driven, challenging and life altering. Since then I have strived to improve in all of CrossFit’s different domains. I can honestly say that I’m in the best shape of my life physically and mentally.

I started as a member of CrossFit San Ramon in October 2017. I got my Level 1 coaching certification in May 2021 and my Level 2 in February 2024.

CrossFit has changed my life in so many ways. As a mom of two young boys back in 2017, I had no time to focus on my fitness and wellbeing. I tried may different types of fitness but nothing motivated me. From the moment I started at CrossFit San Ramon, I was hooked. The variety of movements and strong sense of community kept me motivated. Now, CrossFit is part of my life every day and I am in the best shape of my life and stronger than I ever thought I would be.

My favorite thing about coaching is the community. It is extremely rewarding to see people in the community come together every day to help and encourage each other. My ultimate goal as a coach is to help all the members at CrossFit San Ramon see that they can accomplish their goals and do things they never thought were possible.

I graduated from Saint Mary’s College where I got a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in health and human performance. I have an extensive coaching background and has been coaching CrossFit for 8 years. I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Level 2 CrossFit coach. After a year of training Division 1 athletes, I became passionate about the process of rehabilitating athletes back to their respective sports. So, I decided to put all of my focus into going back to school to be a Physical Therapy Assistant. I have been treating patients for the past 4 years.

Outside of the gym, I enjoy staying active in and out of the gym. You can find me on the trails hiking, backpacking, mountain biking and chasing my son around. I have a strong passion for helping clients achieve their personal goals and building relations throughout the clinic.

McKenna

Hi, I’m McKenna! I joined an East Bay CrossFit gym in 2014 and quickly fell in love with the challenging workouts and the strong sense of community. I earned my L1 in June 2024 and began coaching at CFSR the same month. When I’m not coaching I’m either entertaining my two young active daughters, (who frequently visit the gym) recruiting my friends to join CrossFit or pouring wine at a local wine bar. My current goal is to beat my husband Steven in a WOD someday.
